Why Are My Google Reviews Not Showing?
Google's automated review filter removes reviews it classifies as spam or policy violations. This affects both fake reviews and, frustratingly, genuine ones. Common triggers: the reviewer used a VPN, reviewed from the same IP as other recent reviewers, just created their Google account, or wrote a review immediately after you sent them a link. Google's filter is imprecise and removes legitimate reviews regularly.
The most common scenario: a customer follows your review link, leaves a positive review, and it appears briefly before being filtered out within 24–72 hours. The reviewer still sees their own review when logged in, which is why they don't report it as missing — from their view, it's there. You can see the discrepancy by checking your total review count while logged into Google Business Profile versus the publicly visible count on your listing.
What to do: there is no reliable mechanism to restore a filtered review. You can flag filtered reviews for reinstatement through Google Business Profile's Support channel, but success is inconsistent. The more durable response is to adjust your review request process to reduce filter triggers: ask customers to leave reviews while on their own home network rather than at your business location, don't send multiple review requests to different customers on the same day, and encourage customers to write a sentence or two of genuine content rather than leaving only a star rating with no text.
